The Honoring Families Initiative of the IAALS has achieved success in its resource center in Denver. “Families never have to enter a courtroom. If they’re successful, their divorce or separation is granted by a visiting judge in a comfortable room on the university’s campus—a feature that is more important than many people realize.” The program started small with roughly 100 families in its first year and another 100 in the 2014-15 academic year. They are working to replicate it at universities and in communities nationwide.
