Bobbie Batley, in her role as an Advisory Board member of the Honoring Families Initiative of the Institute for the American Advancement of the Legal System (IAALS), just returned from meeting with the Steering Committee that is organizing a convening of national family law leaders to discuss changes needed in the system to help lawyers better serve the needs of their clients.

IAALS is a national independent research center dedicated to continuous improvement of the process and culture of the American legal system. http://iaals.du.edu/

The IAALS Honoring Families Initiative is committed to advancing empirically informed models for the dignified resolution of divorce, separation, and parental responsibility matters.

Developed from the Honoring Families Initiative out-of-court model, the Resource Center for Separating and Divorcing Families debuted at the University of Denver on September 3, 2013.  The Center is the first of its kind in the United States. http://www.abajournal.com/magazine/article/model_program_brings_holistic_solutions_to_divorce

Also, as a member of the Advisory Board, Bobbie recently contributed to the publication of a white paper titled The Modern Family Court Judge: Knowledge, Qualities and Skills for Success.  See http://iaals.du.edu/images/wygwam/documents/publications/The_Modern_Family_Court_Judge.pdf
