Our founder and Managing Partner Roberta S. Batley has not only been ranked on the Top 25 list in New Mexico by Super Lawyers®, she has also been chosen for the Super Lawyers list for the entire Southwest Region of the United States. Receiving recognition from peers not only in the state of New Mexico but out of the state as well is a mark of distinction that reflects her reputation for excellence and achievement in the field of family law.

Multi-Stage Selection Process
To be named to a Super Lawyers list, an attorney must first be nominated by other attorneys or identified as a top practitioner by a research panel. Those who have received nominations are then evaluated based on their credentials, awards, expertise in their field of law, community service, and results achieved for clients.
The nominated lawyers with the highest point totals after this evaluation are then reviewed and rated by peers in their field of practice. Based on these ratings, Super Lawyers selects the top candidates to be included on the list. Only the top five percent of lawyers in the Southwest Region can be included on the Southwest Super Lawyers List.
National Reputation
While Roberta serves clients in New Mexico, her reputation has expanded in part due to her service to the field of family law at the national level. She serves as the New Mexico Bar Delegate to the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association, and was Chair of the ABA Family Law Section.
She also serves as a leader with the exclusive American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and is one of only 100 Diplomates selected for the American College of Family Trial Lawyers. In addition, she is a Fellow in the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Dedication to Collaborative Law
Despite receiving national distinction for her litigation skills in family law, Roberta firmly believes in the benefits a collaborative approach can provide in many divorce cases. An active member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Albuquerque Collaborative Practice Group, she also serves on the Board of the New Mexico Collaborative Practice Group.
“I hope this award brings greater awareness to the success we can achieve through a collaborative divorce process,” Roberta noted. “With a focus on cooperation rather than competition, the process significantly reduces the trauma that comes along with divorce, particularly for children.”
